BOSS and beatboxing have a synergistic relationship—a bond that continues to deepen over time. Loop Stations are beloved by the genre’s practitioners, and the BOSS RC-505 has become the industry standard for beatboxers everywhere. Swissbeatbox serves as an online home for the movement, showcasing beatboxing videos from artists across the globe. Beatboxer extraordinaire Saro demonstrates how he created his track “Walk” using the RC-505mkII.

From France with Beats

Originally from Fougères, France, Tristan Coudrayaka Saronow calls Rennes home. Prior to establishing himself in the beatboxing community, Saro spent a decade drumming and performing in orchestras and groups. His introduction to beatboxing came while watching the legendary O’slim deliver a set.

Since then, Saro has carved out his own artistic space, using his voice and Loop Station to create colorful compositions incorporating elements of trap, electro, and other styles. Along the way, he continues to battle and earn prizes in competitions including first place in the SBX Camp Tag Team Battle in 2018 and 2019 as Wolfgang with MB14.

Take a Walk

Upon hearing the dizzying trap-influenced grooves of “Walk,” one might picture banks of synthesizers and drum machines. In reality, Saro created the entire track with the RC-505mkII Loop Station. After explaining that he recorded the track in a studio to improve fidelity, Saro demonstrates exactly how he built each element. These include a trap beat with stacked hi-hat and snare patterns, thick chords, and numerous drops.
